Regulatory Challenges Overcome Through Additive Solutions: Class T Fuse Holder

Upholding ABYC's Gold Standards

Artek saw a growing challenge across the Victron installation landscape for those wanting to adhere to ABYC (American Boat & Yacht Council) fuse proximity recommendations: there simply wasn’t a clean, secure, or standardized way to mount Class-T fuses onto the NG Victron batteries within the 7" requirement from ABYC. Installers were forced to rely on improvised mounting methods solutions that were functional at best, messy or unsafe at worst, or place the fuse further away, potentially omitting the safety standard. As a company grounded in electrical innovation, we knew there had to be a better way. So we built one. Artek became the first company to design, manufacture, and deliver a dedicated Class-T fuse holder purpose-built for Victron batteries.

Our engineering team began by developing a precise CAD design that accounted for fit, alignment, and long-term durability. From there, each holder is manufactured in-house in our dedicated 3D printing laboratory. After printing every holder goes through meticulous post-processing. Threaded brass inserts are heat-set into the engineered channels, creating secure, long-lasting mounting points for the Class-T fuses. This combination of advanced additive manufacturing and hands-on craftsmanship ensures each unit performs like a purpose-designed electrical component, not a workaround.

A key part of the design is the integrated mounting extensions. These extensions align perfectly with the existing screw holes on Victron batteries, allowing installers to mount the fuse holder directly to the battery without drilling, modifying, or additional hardware. The result is a seamless, secure installation that keeps layouts clean, organized, and consistent across projects. Because we manufacture these holders entirely in-house, we maintain full control over quality, consistency, and production timelines. And because we engineered the design from the ground up, we ensured compatibility across the full range of Victron battery models used in RV, marine, off-grid, and specialty power systems.
